The simplicity of this program lies in its support for a wide variety of programming languages such as C, Clojure, CoffeeScript, C#, CSS, Dart, Erlang, Go, Haml, Haskell, HTML, ini files, Java, JavaScript, JSON, LogiQL, Lua, Markdown, Nix, PHP, Plist, Protobufs, Python, Ruby, Shell, and XML, each with a different color to make them easily distinguishable.
Zed also includes multiple cursors and split-view editing, letting you control multiple windows at once, each with its own cursor, all supported by the order supplied by each source's different colors. You can also browse your files through a file tree that you can access by hitting Ctrl + T.
Since Zed combines the way in which you browse local and remote files, you can move between items stored on any server, creating a complete directory with which you can access anything at any time. It runs in the background, too, so it only takes a second or two to start it.
